This means that the Board of Governors comprises representatives of the Church, Diocese of Norwich Education and Academy Trust (DNEAT), the Parish Councils and Parents.

The present school building dates back to the 1854, and is built on land owned by the Townsend Estate, whom we still have a close link with today.

We admit children from The Raynhams, Helhoughton, Raynham Park (Kitpons) and Fakenham.

We have links with Colkirk Preschool, Weasenham Preschool and the many preschools in Fakenham. We also have a link with the Children's Centre in Fakenham.

In September 2004, the school entered into a Partnership / Management agreement with Sculthorpe Primary School. Both schools are managed by one Executive Headteacher. Mr C Allen divides his time between the two schools.

Whilst the two schools federated in January 2011 both schools remain very individual and maintain their own growing budgets. In January 2014 a third school joined our federation – Colkirk CE VA Primary School, forming the Unity federation of Church Schools. Each school has Head of School, this person is in charge when Mr Allen is off-site.

There are many advantages to being in federation, including:

• Pupils have increased social, sporting and cultural opportunities
• Staff have enhanced professional development
• Both schools financially benefit

The benefits of being part of DNEAT, include:

• Academy status gives us some additional flexibility in deciding how best to meet the needs of your children.
• Greater purchasing power and value for money.
• Additional support and expertise that no longer exists in the Local Authority in ways it has in the past.
• A wider network of support available when we need it.
• Protection of our Christian foundations.

How we work:

The school is divided into three classes (Beech, Willow and Maple) each taught by a qualified teacher and /or a HLTA, most are supported by Teaching Assistants.

Some of our Teaching Assistants work with SEN children and other work within the whole class environment. All are at least NVQ 3 trained.

Our class sizes are around 16-24 pupils per class (roughly 10 pupils less than most larger primary schools locally).

We have a lovely outdoor learning area just a few minutes walk from school and we have named this Rabbit Hills. Each year group spends a morning there for half a term.

Behaviour:

In our academy it is important we promote and encourage the best possible behaviour of everyone who is associated with it.  

As part of our work with Pivotal Behaviour we have trained all staff to develop meaningful strategies to work with everyone in a supportive way in our academy.

As part of this work we have a Behaviour Blueprint that everyone follows (this compliments our Behaviour Policy and Academy Rules).
